Wahoo SYSTM uses 4DP (Four-Dimensional Power) profiling instead of the traditional single-number FTP to characterize cyclists across four energy systems: Neuromuscular Power (5-second sprint), Anaerobic Capacity (1-minute max), MAP (Maximal Aerobic Power, 5-minute effort), and FTP (sustained power, 20-minute effort). The full-effort test protocol includes sprints, a 5-minute all-out effort, and a 20-minute sustained effort to build a complete power profile. All SYSTM workouts then auto-adjust their targets to your 4DP profile — a workout targeting anaerobic capacity uses your AC number, not a percentage of FTP. Plans are designed by professional coaches including Neal Henderson (coach of Olympic gold medalists).
